Khadija is an ageing cleaner returning home by the last subway after a long working day, but she falls asleep. When she wakes up at the final stop and she doesn't manage to get money for a cab, she is left with no other choice but to walk. This poetic odyssey winds through the night streets of Brussels where Khadija experiences a series of fleeting encounters with people who are, for various reasons, awake in the dead of night. And a detailed picture of the multicultural reality of today's Brussels gradually comes to life.

Audiences became aware of the Belgian screenwriter and director thanks to his four short films, but he really made a name for himself with his feature debut Violet, which was presented at Berlin IFF. His style relies on a strong visual side, building atmosphere through images and sparse dialogues. Apart from film, he also established himself as a theatre director.
