Young Altan comes to a desert island for a job after falling out with his father. His increasingly disconcerting solitude is disturbed by the realization there's someone else on the island. One day, an old man named Baibal appears at his door with a peculiar request. He explains his wife is dead and his days are numbered as well, and asks Altan to bury him next to his wife when he dies. Since that moment, Altan comes up with a new idea every day for the old man not to be left alone and to look forward to another beautiful day.
