James was brought up in isolation by a married couple of kidnappers. When their life together is disrupted one day, James realizes that he knows nothing about the world apart from the Brigsby Bear Adventures TV show, of which he is the only fan. Fuelled by his imagination, James looks for a way to deal with reality. The combination of a psychological drama and comedy with bizarrely poetic style loosely refers to today's pop-culture symbols.
