Gangster Jang Dong-soo is brutally assaulted by a mysterious attacker one night, and he barely comes out alive. Local detective Jung Tae-seok believes that a sadistic mass murderer is on the loose in the city, but he isn't able to convince his supervisors without concrete evidence. The two men from opposite sides of the law join forces to catch the killer called “K”. This South Korean action thriller relies on the excellent charisma of the three lead actors and was presented at the midnight section at Cannes film festival.

The South Korean screenwriter and director originally worked as a producer for MBC TV, and debuted in 2017 with a prison drama Man of Will. His second film The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil was very successful in its home country, and an American remake is being prepared by Sylvester Stallone's production company.
