Standa, a slightly clumsy volunteer fireman and father-to-be consults with his role model, Chief Bróňa, about everything. When a suspicious car accident at the Easter fair causes irrational panic in the village amid fears of suspected terrorism, Bróňa becomes the leading voice of a newly established militia. He vows to protect his fellow citizens at all costs, as Standa remains caught between his increasingly fanatical behaviour and growing doubts about the entire situation.
A recent graduate of Prague's FAMU with a focus on depicting the lives of ordinary people, he has already experienced success with his short films (Friendly Sport Meeting was nominated for the Magnesia Award for the best student film of 2017). His master's project and feature-length debut, Somewhere Over the Chemtrails, premiered at this year's Berlinale in the Panorama section.
