The quiet atmosphere of a small seaside town in south China is disturbed by a series of violent attacks against women. Inspired by true but never solved events, the thriller paints a portrait of today's Chinese society and shows the consequences of moral corruption. Director Miaoyan Zhang escalates the oppressive atmosphere through subdued impressionist images of a town drowning both in actual and metaphorical fog.
