Yoon-hee lives only with her teenage daughter Sae-bom. One winter day, Yoon-hee gets a mysterious letter from Japan. When her daughter accidentally reads it, she learns about her mother's first love – one that Yoon-hee has never mentioned before. The mother and daughter set off on a path of reconciliation and start building a strong bond based on shared experiences. The film world-premiered at the Busan festival, where it was screened as the closing picture.

Daehyung Lim

The young South Korean director and screenwriter studied at the Theatre and Film department in Seoul. He has made two shorts, Lemon Time and The World of IF. His feature debut Merry Christmas Mr. Mo was nominated and awarded at many festivals and won the Best Director prize at Busan IFF. Moonlit Winter is his second feature.
