Soviet Union, 1984. Five friends are known as troublemakers in the dorm where they live. But they already know how to get out of trouble and always manage to appease the management. One night, the friends promise to behave honestly, but they have no idea how soon life will test their words. The following morning, the timid but also the most thoughtful of them witnesses a tragic event that sets the gears of the still-breathing totalitarian system in motion.
The Moscow native got into audiovisual creation at an early age as a photographer and cameraman for commercials. He subsequently became famous for several American films, such as End of Watch (2012), Fury (2014) and Suicide Squad (2016), for which he also won several awards. The Dorm, for which he wrote the screenplay himself, marks his feature directorial debut.
