An elderly Romanian politician has not avoided certain scandals during his career, but now he would like to represent his country in the European Parliament. As luck would have it, his car breaks down on the edge of the field of a kind-hearted tractor driver in whom the experienced official sees the ideal tool for his election campaign. This sarcastic black comedy criticizes the falsity and empty platitudes of top politicians as well as the apathy of the average voter.

A film directing graduate from Bucharest State University and a regular participant of film festivals around the world. In 2008, he won the Palme d'Or for the best short film at Cannes with Megatron, and in Locarno, he was presented with an award for his feature début Morgen (2010). His fourth feature film The Campaign was awarded at the IFF Moscow.
