Fourteen-year-old Juliette is more than just a few pounds overweight, which is the source of ridicule for the whole high school. However, since Juliette is lively, funny and a bit rebellious by nature, she doesn't care about her schoolmates' mockery. No obstacle is too high to prevent Juliette from following her dreams, although the path might be thorny and full of unexpected twists. This typical coming-of-age story follows a girl who wants precisely the things she cannot have.
The Montréal-based screenwriter and director made seven short films between 2005 and 2011. Many of them were presented at international festivals and won numerous awards. Her feature debut Nuit #1 was selected for over twenty-five major festivals, including Rotterdam, Busan and Taipei IFF. Jeune Juliette is her fourth live-action film.
