The film’s title comes from an award given by sports journalists to a player under the age of 21, who plays in one of Europe's top football leagues. A young, restless footballer, this film’s “golden boy” finds himself racking up more trouble than tries thanks to his talent and difficult temperament. This story of big talent and second chances was also released as a five-part miniseries.

Ognjen Janković

The Serbian filmmaker and actor studied film and television production in his native Belgrade before directing commercials for over 15 years, working also on the reality show Survivor (2012) and as a creative in advertising agencies. He was involved in several short documentaries and two sitcoms and has been part of the rap group Beogradski Sindikat for over 12 years. Golden Boy is his film debut.
