Although Stéphan's enemies in Corsica threaten to kill him, he decides to return to his native island to attend the funeral of his best friend and comrade in arms. On the way, he recalls the events which led to his leaving his comfortable and secure life in Bastia and becoming a political radical in an underground movement. The story is loosely based on Corsica's modern history and the director's personal experience.
