MFF Praha - Febiofest
The feature-length debut by Ukrainian director Oleksii Taranenko I Work at the Cemetery saw screenings at two sections of Febiofest – Comedy and Ukraine: Heart of Europe. Taranenko’s tragicomedy about private things lost and found compellingly blends a powerful personal drama with a crime story from the Ukrainian underworld. It has reaped several awards along its circuit among international film festivals, including one for the best live-action film at the Munich festival and a camera award at Italy’s Montelupo Fiorentino. Its producer Maksim Leshchanka made sure to be there at the screening and closing discussion at Cinema City Slovanský dům.
