VICA KEREKES IS ONLY A CONFECTIONER IN MOVIES

VISITORS AT THE 28TH PRAGUE IFF – FEBIOFEST HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH ROMANTIC COMEDY “CREAM” ON THE BIG SCREEN

The actress who portrayed the protagonist, Vica Kerekes, who has appeared in a number of Czech films as well, came to introduce the Hungarian film. She played a confectioner, though she says this is not a profession she would be able to take up in real life. “I love cooking, especially for my friends, but I’m not a great baker. We got special training before the film, to make it look professional. The pastries you see in the film come from the best bakery in Budapest,” Kerekes revealed.

She also said her mother and grandmother are both great pastry cooks. “It’s a good thing I don’t live at home anymore – I’d be round like an apple by now. I love to eat,” the actress laughed. She also explained why there’s so much spitting in the film: “The director had read that there’s a psychologist in the U.S. who uses spit to predict how long couples would stay together. And apparently he’s right 99% of the time,” Vica Kerekes explained.
