This Polish director is known primarily for his open and sharp criticism of contemporary Polish society. Among his strongest films are Hatred (2016) and his uncompromising portrait of the Polish church Clergy (2018). His new film The Wedding Day is yet another of his socially provocative titles – and one that became an audience hit immediately after its premiere. This picture came back from the Tallinn festival wreathed with honours for best direction and screenwriting.
