An unemployed rapper has his mother and girlfriend convinced that he’s working on his debut album. However, he regularly forgets about finding background music, preferring to start an affair with an unhappily married woman addicted to antidepressants. This provocative social drama set to the rhythm of a hip-hop musical preserves the verse language of Dorota Maslowska’s book while relentlessly exposing the dark side of Polish society, which not even a rapping Jesus Christ can save.

Aleksandra Terpińska

She studied psychology in Wroclaw and directing in Katowice. Several of her successful short films have been screened at festivals worldwide. The most recent of these, The Best Fireworks Ever (2017), received an award at Cannes Critics’ Week. Terpińska’s feature debut, Other People, had its world premiere at the Tallinn IFF, where it won the FIPRESCI Award. She won another five awards at the Gdynia Film Festival in Poland.
