A large family meets at a country manor after one of their members tried to commit suicide. While he's fighting for his life in hospital, the rest of the relatives try to deal with his act and his possible demise in their own way. This mid-length film marked Arnaud Desplechin's entry into the world of cinema and earned him the prestigious French Jean-Vigo award.
