Marco Ferreri’s cult film tells the metaphorical story of four friends who aim to commit suicide in an utterly unorthodox manner, deciding to gorge themselves to death on fine dishes and delicacies. The decadent feast in an old house on the outskirts of Paris is a critique of the unbridled consumerism of modern society, in which vulgarity and poetry and controversy and intimacy alternate.
