The UN sends three scientists to an unspecified country in South America to investigate the origin and extent of a terrible ecological catastrophe called Diablo Blanco. However, they are kidnapped upon their arrival by a group of terrorists hired by the director of a multinational company which very likely caused the catastrophe. Werner Herzog's unsettling ecological thriller poses questions about each of our morals and personal responsibility.
