At age 10, Alexis witnesses the brutal murder of her family. She manages to save her own life at the last moment, by killing the assailant – her own mentally disturbed father – with a meat pounder. This traumatic experience miraculously restored her previously lost hearing, as well as sparking an interest in experimental music. The latter, however, grows into a dangerous obsession as Alexis comes of age... This original plot with imaginative murder scenes is presented in a distinctive audio-visual rendering.

He began working in film as a producer and writer. A latecomer to directing, he gained recognition for his first film, the short Conductor (2018), which won awards at a number of genre festivals. He returned to the theme of music and the destructive quest for perfection in his feature debut, Sound of Violence, premiered at South by Southwest.
