During the First World War, Tomás peered behind the curtain to the netherworld when he was nearly killed by an explosion. Six months later, he is startled to meet the young girl he had seen through the curtain again. He is now trying to eke out a living as an itinerant post mortem photographer. The girl invites him to visit a nearby village – where there are many dead who can only be buried with the springtime thaw, guaranteeing good earnings. On the very night of his arrival, however, Tomás discovers that something is wrong here…
Trained as a psychologist, Bergendy worked as editor-in-chief of a cinema magazine and for the Hungarian Film Institute before becoming a director of commercials and music videos as well as several award-winning genre films. His fourth feature, the ghostly horror and fantasy spectacle Post Mortem, was screened at numerous fantasy film festivals, winning awards in Portugal and Italy.
