A married couple from Zurich is convinced they have done the best for their children's upbringing. The kids, however, disagree. Although they live in Switzerland, peace never reigns in the household, just a truce. The umbilical cord is finally cut when it's the parents who leave home instead of the children. This portrait of a family on the verge of a nervous breakdown is a project of two spouses who cast their own children in the film, thus creating a unique auto-fictional comedy.

Parents, which he made with his wife Ruth Schweikert, is his feature live-action debut. / She is a Swiss writer who gained early recognition in the literary world with Erdnüsse; Totschlagen (1994), a collection of short stories about women living in damaged relationships whose hopelessness is passed on from generation to generation.
