The young Cal returns to the family ranch to visit his ailing father. But the patriarch has cast the family into debt, and Cal is incapable of dealing with the situation. When his sister also returns home, a conflict ignites in which everyone must show their true colours. In this modern variation on the western, full of breath-taking shots of the Montana landscape, the heroes come to terms with a devastating reality, finding that no matter how far they run, they cannot hide from themselves.
