Iceland is struck by a series of bank robberies – in which no money is taken from the safes. The perpetrator can only be stopped by a duo of celebrity police officers: the tough-guy Bussi and the always-immaculate, proudly-bisexual Hörđur. But their cooperation as partners begins to awaken doubts within Bussi regarding his own sexuality. This goofy parody of Hollywood action movies is a queer response to The Last Scout. Here the homoerotic tension that is always present in buddy movies comes to the fore, becoming a source of humour and subversive fun.

Hannes Þór Halldórsson

Halldórsson – the goalie for Iceland’s national football team – had his initial directing breakthroughs in advertising and music videos. Cop Secret is his feature-length debut. This movie premiered as a competitor at the prestigious Locarno film festival. It went on to be shown at festivals in London and Busan and at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.
