The first wave of coronavirus brought the world to a halt and sentenced millions to months of house arrest. Actors Michael Sheen and David Tennant, known from the miniseries Good Omens, decide to continue rehearsing the play via webcam with a certain amount of self-denial. But there are always more than enough disruptive elements. Their conversations are full of sharp humour at the expense of the Welsh and the Scots, (pop) cultural references, and debates about the everyday problems that the pandemic has brought with it.
The British director, originally primarily a theatre director, first drew attention with the series Staged, which he conceived, wrote, and produced during the coronavirus pandemic. His project, in which he played the director alongside two famous actors, has received numerous comedy awards. After two seasons of the British version, Evans began working on an American remake.
