After years in Paris, Selma (Golshifteh Farahani) returns home to Tunisia where she wants to start her own psychotherapy practice. But what she doesn't know is that she will have to deal with a plethora of truly unorthodox patients. The setting of this comedy is provided by the Tunisian society of today, amidst tumultuous cultural and socio-economic changes, some of which are positive, others negative, and nobody knows what will come next.
The French-Tunisian director graduated in political science and economy. As a screenwriter and director, she collaborated on numerous projects for theatre, radio and television. In 2016, she participated in a screenwriting program at La Femis in Paris. Arab Blues is her live-action feature debut and it premiered at Venice IFF.
