MFF Praha - Febiofest
PLANET DARK – A PLATFORM FOR ALL DARK GENRE AFICIONADOS – HAS CREATED THE EPONYMOUS FEBIOFEST PROGRAMME SECTION. AND NOW, IT HAS PRODUCED ITS FIRST FILM
The new film by Czech director Emil Křižka Repulse, which just premiered at Prague IFF – Febiofest, is going to cinemas as a Planet Dark Original production. This story of two dysfunctional families, told in a highly unusual way, will probably open up many questions. Viewers can look for answers at planetdark.tv, specifically the podcast with the director of Repulse.
The makers of Repulse have used words like “peculiar”, “different” and “unconventional” to describe the film. Another fitting adjective might be “intense”. “Repulse has brought us Emil Křižka, who is a bit of a wonder of nature when it comes to working with actors and action,” actor Štěpán Kozub said with admiration. “It’s amazing how quickly we were able to complete the shooting. This film is a bit of a precious child for us, so I really hope it will make you feel something, leave a mark,” added his colleague, actress Pavla Gajdošíková. The director is asking viewers to come to screenings without any specific expectations. Producer Vratislav Šlajer agrees: “This film is very authentic, and it kind of doesn’t care whether you like it or not. Do not expect to have a restful experience, though. It’s an intense ride.”
You can experience Repulse on 22 and 24 September as part of the Prague programme, as well as in Ostrava during the Febiofest Regions tour.
