Febiofest’s director said that the Liberec launch had been highly enjoyable. “Kino Varšava, where it took place, was almost totally destroyed. A group of enthusiasts came together to save it and are gradually doing it up. Both the city and region want to continue supporting the cinema and we would like to continue holding the festival there,” said Spáčil.
The Liberec Febiofest opened with the highly-rated Polish picture Corpus Christi and the programme also includes the likes of Disco and Servants. In the following days the festival will also get underway in five other regional centres, namely České Budějovice, Ostrava, Děčín, Beroun and Zlín, where the closing ceremony for the regional part of the 27th edition will take place on 8 October.
