This adaptation of Rhidian Brook's eponymous novel is set in post-war Germany in 1946. A British officer arrives in destroyed Hamburg with his wife Rachael, tasked with rebuilding the city. Rachael is surprised to find out that they will share a house with the original German owner and his daughter. The tense atmosphere escalates to an inevitable finale. This film was shot mostly in the Czech Republic.
