Nick Nicolaou owns and operates a movie theatre in Queens, New York, and fights for independent theatres to stay open despite large multiplexes, legislation changes and cultural shifts. In a dialogue with director Abel Ferrara, he describes his relationship to cinema after he left his home Cyprus for the USA in the 1970s, and the current difficulties he must face to keep his business afloat.
