Janina is a retired eccentric English teacher and lover of animals. She lives in a small village where several mysterious murders happen in a quick succession. The horror and shock contrast with the locals' disinterest in the killings of wild animals during the hunting season. The film is based on a moralistic thriller written by Olga Tokarczuk, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, and the film was awarded with Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize at Berlinale 2017
