Irena lives somewhere in the post-Communist Lithuanian countryside, trying to keep a failing pig farm afloat. When American Bernardas appears and wants to invest in the farm, it seems like a miracle. But there's a catch to everything. This satirical comedy with a political subtext uses deadpan humor – not unlike that of the Kaurismäki brothers – to illustrate the complicated and chaotic transformation from Communism to capitalism.
