In Norwegian director Joachim Trier's first English language film, which was presented in the main competition at the Cannes IFF, the real battleground is the relationships within a family. Three years after the war photographer Isabelle Reed dies, her son Jonah must return to the family home where an exhibition of her work is being prepared. Jonah and his brother and father have conflicting views of the woman who continues to define their lives and relationships.
